How Did Patriot Democracy Start?
Many South Africans with great frustration and horror have watched their beautiful country slowly descend into chaos and destruction at the greedy hands of the ANC government.
It had become clear that South Africa was not going to improve if left to the current leadership, and many proud South Africans were starting to give up.
So in December of 2019, a few patriotic friends decided that it was time to get involved and started working on what become Patriot Democracy.
We Choose The Government We Deserve
Democracy is a powerful and simple concept. The people choose their leaders, and if those leaders perform purely and betray the people and the people continue to support the same leaders then we the people are responsible for our leader's failings.
That's correct, the ANC's failings are yours and my fault, but we can learn from our mistakes and we can fix our country.
If we want a good, ethical and just government we the people need to hold the leaders accountable by not voting for them when they betray our vote.
When we looked at the state of affairs, what was clear is that many South Africans did not understand the power of their vote and how the people can hold politicians accountable through the Democratic process, and in turn, improve their own lives.
Out of these guiding principles, Patriot Democracy was born with the idea that if the people stood together and said "this is not what we want" we could have a better South Africa for all.
Freedom & Empowerment Through Technology
Patriot Democracy seeks to take a holistic view of South Africa and look at all the angles involved that are hurting our Democracy.
We identified several key issues, with poverty combined with lack of education around Democracy, peoples rights and voting the single biggest problems identified. The next biggest problem identified was lack of participation out of fear, combined with the feeling of hopelessness.
Once we had a clear picture and areas of focus, we looked at how technology can be used to tackle these problems. To get more people involved that previously would have avoided getting involved in politics out of fear and spreading the message of Democracy to all corners of South Africa as a path out of poverty and a better life for all.
Through technology and volunteers donating their time, we are creating a platform that is long term sustainable, censorship-resistant and a vehicle to improve and strengthen our Democracy.
- Create a platform that would provide information on voting, Democracy, rights and freedoms.
- Seek to educate all people on the power of voting and how voting can be used to improve the lives of the people.
- Give the people a method and framework for voting in a one-party state immature Democracy.
- Motivate disinterested or disillusioned South Africans to participate in their Democracy.
- Help South African's believe and have hope for the future, by showing a path to freedom and Democracy.
- Draw attention to the ANC's long term plans to move South Africa from a Democracy to a Socialist state.
- Provide ideas for improving the lives of the poor in South Africa and helping address the legacy of our past.
- Identify, research and promote the best technologies available.
- Provide tools and guides that patriots can use to participate safely, securely and if needed anonymously.
Not A Political Party
Patriot Democracy is not and will never be a political party. Patriot Democracy is about promoting and guiding Democracy.
Patriot Democracy is on the side of the people. We may give advice on who to vote for and who not to vote for, but we are not part of any political party.
Non-Racial & Ego-less
South Africa is sadly often divided by race. These divisions are often exploited by politicians for self-gain and power, by dividing people and making them artificial enemies. Race and cultural differences are used to create conflict, for the benefit of immoral politicians.
From the beginning, it was decided that Patriot Democracy would be an origination for all South Africans regardless of race, colour and religion.
Organisations, NGO's and political parties often become about the person. These organisation often become an extension of the ego of the creators. In the process excluding people that do not identify with the person rather than the organisation.
For All South Africans
So to achieve the goal of being for everyone we needed to remove race and ego from the equation and let the information, organisation and platform stand on its own. For this reason, the original creators of Patriot Democracy will, for the time being, remain anonymous.
It does not matter if the original creators are Black, Coloured, White or Indian, it does not matter if we are male or female, Zulu or Xhosa. We are South Africans, we are Africans, we are human, and it does not matter because we are all the same.
